Cooperation with USAID was U.S. $ 2 MILLION
Private reserves strengthened in the Chaco

The Foundation for Sustainable Development for the Chaco closed a 9-year cooperation program supported by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The program aimed at strengthening the sustainable management of the Chaco and Pantanal ecoregions.

Oportunet Launch
USAID’s supported internet program was launched on Tuesday December 1st. The U.S. Ambassador Liliana Ayalde and USAID/Paraguay participated in the announcement of 50 new locations (bringing the total to 104 sites) to be benefitted with “Oportunet” a program with the local “Fundación Paraguaya” that brings Internet technology and skills to underserved areas of the country and, more importantly, to underserved target populations.

Paraguay's Threshold Program starts operations
In a ceremony at the Palacio de López, attended by President Fernando Lugo and the U.S. Ambassador to Paraguay, Liliana Ayalde, the second phase of operations of the “Threshold Program” was presented.

This two-year US$ 30.3 million grant from the Millennium Challenge Corporation will be administered by USAID/Paraguay...

REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH SURVEY
Presentation of the final report of the Survey, a vital tool for formulating reproductive health policies.

In a ceremony held on 8 October 2009, with the presence of the Ambassador for the United States, Ms. Liliana Ayalde, Vice Health Minister Edgar Jimenez and UNICEF Representative Msr. Marik Klappe , the Final Report of the National Survey of Demography and Reproductive Health was presented (ENDSSR 2008).
