USAID/Paraguay acknowledges that corruption is a major cause of under development and for that reason supports activities that address corruption on a general level as well as in specific sectors. To combat corruption, USAID aims to reduce impunity, and promote transparency and accountability in all branches and levels of government. Civil society organizations play a major oversight role in working closely with the public sector to address corruption issues.
