The Mission supports the strengthening of political parties by promoting good governance practices among candidates, transparency and accountability in political financing, and merit standards as key criteria in the appointment of government officials to reduce patronage.
In 2005, the Mission has already begun helping municipalities measure their performance and has started working with political parties to award excellence in public service.
