Organization of USAID / Paraguay
USAID is part of the diplomatic mission of the Government of the United States in Paraguay. USAID/Paraguay is in charge of designing and implementing the United States’ development assistance strategy for Paraguay. In order to fulfill this mandate, USAID/Paraguay takes into consideration the development needs of Paraguay, the Government of Paraguay’s plans and strategies, the interests of the U.S. Government, the level of resources available, and the role of other donors in Paraguay.
USAID/Paraguay channels assistance through contracting mechanisms, cooperative agreements, and grants with U.S.-based private institutions, as well local and international NGOs.
The USAID Mission in Paraguay focuses its development efforts in the following areas: consolidation of Democracy, protection of the Environment, improvement of Public Health, and promotion of Economic Development for all Paraguayans.
